Eastern coyotes act like little wolves and are more 'pack oriented' than western coyotes. Oftentimes eastern coyotes hunt in packs. I've seen this with my own eyes. And when I call in a coyote here in NY, it is rarely ever alone...
A long time houndsman shared his theory on eastern coyotes with me after I returned his lost hound last winter.
He theorized that the eastern coyote surely has wolf in it's blood, if only for the color variations that are present here in the east.
He surmised that somewhere on their eastern migration, coyotes and wolves crossed, thereby introducing some wacky colors into the coyote genepool that are not present in most western coyotes...
coyotes out west rarely have the wide range of color variations that are present in eastern coyotes. I've seen coyotes that looked like creamsicles (orange/white), silver/white, rusty red/brown, dark gray/black, and "regular" colored coyotes. This color variation is a trait that is quite common amongst wolves...
This was the opinion of a man who has hunted coyotes with hounds for almost 30years, so I'm just passing this info along....

Walther p22
Walther P22 (.22LR) Handgun
The Walther® P22 is a user-friendly adaptation of the larger P99. The same look. The same feel. Only three quarters of the size of its big brother. But this little guy loads rimfire .22 LR rounds in double action for the first round, and single action for remaining rounds until the magazine is empty. Unleashing the first round is easy with only about 12 pounds of pressure required to activate the double action and emptying the magazine is even easier with single action requiring just under 5 pounds of pressure.
The double/single action is due to its external hammer, a change from the P99. Decocking the Walther® P22 after activating single action mode can be done by turning on the ambidextrous, slide-mounted safety with your thumb, preventing the hammer from firing the round when the trigger is pulled to release the hammer. Of course, firing the Walther® P22 to begin with is impossible without a magazine locked firmly in place. This is because of the P22’s magazine disconnect safety feature. Without a magazine firmly in, the trigger bar passes beneath the P22’s lockwork due to pressure from the disconnect spring. The force of the disconnect spring also functions in the rapid ejection of a cleared magazine when released. Magazine ejection is triggered by an ambidextrous lever located behind and below the trigger of the Walther® P22.
For comfort and customization, the P22 has additional backstraps to adjust grip and is available with barrel lengths of 3.4” to 5”. Barrels can be interchanged within minutes at the operators will. Like many other Walther® pistols, the P22 can also be modified with a number of accessories including, but not limited to, lasers, sights, high capacity magazines and red dot scopes for target shooting enjoyment.
